Taylor's fourth grade classes have been learning about Native American tribes in Utah. These student recently had the opportunity to have a special visitor at their school, Eileen Quintana of Title VII Indian Education for Nebo School District. Eileen brought with her many items that are unique to the Navajo culture. Students were able to see infant cradle boards, jingle dresses, blankets, a bow, dolls, dresses, teepee models , head dresses, articles of clothing and dream catcher baskets. Eileen also brought pictures of hogans and sheep farms from the Navajo resevations.
We would like to thank the following Heroes and businesses for helping us SO MUCH to make our Night of the Heroes so successful!
This week has been National School Lunch week. Each day the lunch staff has been rewarding kids with prizes by placing stickers on random trays. Students would bring their tray back up to the lunch ladies to redeem their price. The district donated a grand prize which was a bike. Today all students’ names were placed in a bucket for a drawing and Hunter Ramirez, in Ms. Leavitt’s 2nd grade class, was our lucky winner!
