Taylor's annual 'Sing Around the Tree' is always a favorite time of year for students. This year was no exception. Students from each class prepared a song, the amazing Glee Club performed, and the 5th and 6th grade classes sang a song in German. A real treat was when Mr. Hansen's class performed 'the 12 Days of School' written by student, Isaac Wolford. All of this magic was followed up by the choral singing of some of the school's favorite Christmas songs accompanied by master pianist, DeAnne Thurgood. What a great way to spend the last day of school of 2014! Thank you student council for leading us in another great Taylor tradition!

Taylor School has a lot to be thankful for. Some of those things are the bright, smiling faces of Taylor's kindergarten students. Taylor's Kindergarten classes recently held a Thanksgiving Feast where students celebrated and learned about the story and traditions of Thanksgiving Day. Parents came to help students make pies, fruit salad, turkey wraps and much more! Thank you kindergarten classes for keeping the joys of Thanksgiving alive in our school!
Taylor Schools annual 'Gobble-Off' was recenty held in an assembly. Students from each class were selected to compete for a school wide contest to see who had the best gobble! This is always a favorite time of year for students to support one another for the chance to win a free turkey! Turkeys were provided by Taylor's amazing PTA organization to students that gobbled the best! Congratulations winners and we hope you enjoy your turkey prizes!
Taylor's Fourth grade students recently finished an intense 50-day keyboarding program at school. Keyboarding master, Mr. Bartholomew, held an awards assembly for the fourth-grade classes to celebrate their accomplishments! Students have been working hard, practicing at home and have improved their keyboarding skills greatly! Those who passed off their skills each week were rewarded with candy as well as cash prizes! Brycen Asay, student in Mrs. Sydney Tracy's class, excelled in keyboarding more than any other student. He was able to type 56 WPM on average! Brycen says, "I liked how it wasn't that hard. I just knew the where they keys were at inside of my head." Congratulations students for all of your hard work this year!
Zion's Bank in Payson invited Taylor's Kindergarten classes to create the ornaments for the bank lobby tree. Students in Mrs. Bradford, Mrs. Kober and Mrs. Sumen's created beautiful decorations for the city of Payson to enjoy! As part of this special opportunity, Taylor's Kindergarten students were invited to the annual 'tree lighting ceremony' hosted by Zion's Bank. Kindergarten students and their families packed the lobby of the bank and everyon enjoyed a treat of kindergarten carolers. This was special honor for Taylor School and we feel blessed to add this event to our rich history!
Taylor Elementary recently hosted the Utah Opera assembly, "Who wants to be an Opera Star?' This assembly is always a favorite of students because music comes alive for them! The talented singers of the Utah Opera play a game show while teaching students different terminology and facts about Opera performance. Fourth-grade student, Sahaja Rutledge said, " This assembly was great because they did a lot of activities that involved the audience!". Thank you Utah Opera for enriching our students with your musical talent again this year!
S.E.P. night was recently held at Taylor Elementary. Not only was this a chance for students and parents to sit down with their teacher and discuss progress, goals and accomplishments, but an amazing art gallery was showcased as well. Mrs. Patten, Taylor's talented art teacher, transformed her classroom into an art gallery that displayed student work throughout the term. This was a favorite for many to visit because students were able to show off the talents they've been developing in visual arts. Thanks Mrs. Patten and Taylor students for displaying your individual talents for others to see
