Students in Mr. Hansen, Mr. Richins and Mr. Wilson's fifth-grade classes recently were involved in Discovery Gateway's "Reaction Time" presentation. As part of fifth-grade core, students study states of matter as well as chemical and physical change. Demonstrations and experiments took place to help solidify the students' understanding. This was a great hands on learning opportunity because students actually performed the experiments themselves. Fifth-grade student, Jason Flinders, said, " My favorite part was doing the experiments because you got to see colors changing, things shooting out of the vials, and we got to wear awesome goggles!"
