Parent Weekly Newsletter

Dear Taylor Families,

It was so fun to watch our 1st through 6th grade students attend the movies this past week.  I loved watching the faces of the kids as they realized their seats rocked or reclined back.  They were so well behaved and we had a great time.  Also, thank you so much for coming out to SEPs  last night.  It was a great turn out.   I would especially like to thank our AMAZING PTA for the wonderful meal provided to us.  They do such a great job helping our students and teachers!

SAFETY:

As you have heard me say several times, safety is always my number one concern.  I would like to remind you of some Parking and Drop off procedures:I would like to remind you of the preschool pick up and drop off procedures.
There will be two teachers at the door to receive your child for school that day.  There will always be a sign posted on the doors reminding you if there is no preschool.  When you come to pick up your child, there will be two teachers at the door to release them to you at the end of the day.    If you park on the street, you will need to walk your child over to the teachers or you will need to come pick up your child from the teachers.  Children will not be released to walk over to you.  Children will only be released to you or others you have given us permission to release them to (by email, written note, phone call or on other paperwork).  If you are late bringing your child to school, you will need to come into the office to check them in and then walk them down to the classroom. For all students, I ask you to please not park in the pick-up/drop-off area before or after school. If you need to get out of your car for any reason we need you to park in a marked parking stall and come in to the school. If there is an empty space in front of you while you are waiting to pick up or drop off your students we also need you to continue to pull forward, filling the void in space. Please note that the pick-up/drop-off lane is a single deep lane. The other portion of this lane is for a pull-through only. Do not stop or park in the pull through lane.  Also I see many parents dropping their students off just passed the crossing guard, next to our handicap parking.  This is a red zone and we ask that you please not drop off or park in this area.  In keeping to this procedure will help keep the flow of traffic moving along so we do not back up into the street more than necessary.    Thank you for your support as we continue to improve the safety of our school.
