Fourth grade students at Taylor Elementary had the pleasure of having a special guest visit their classroom and share one of his many talents.  Mr. Wade Menlove is the Alternative Language Services and Migrant Education Specialist for Nebo School District and the fourth grade was lucky enough to have him take a morning to make his famous home-made salsa.

Each year, the fourth graders in Mrs. Corbin and Ms. Wayman's classes read a story title, "The Pool Party" by Gary Soto.  This story is about a young Mexican-American boy who is invited to attend a pool party at a fellow classmate's house.  It is fun to read because it is full of Spanish vocabulary that the fourth graders love to learn.  As Mr. Menlove makes his salsa, he talks to the classes about the story and some of the things the main character has to face before the pool party.

Mr. Menlove's salsa is made from fresh picked vegetables right out of his own garden.  It is definitely a favorite time of year for the fourth grade classes, as well as the staff who get to eat the leftovers!  Thank you Mr. Menlove!
