Teachers and students work hard each day to make Taylor Elementary a caring environment full of lifelong learners.  The Kindergarten teachers are no exception.  In Mrs. Treana Kober and Mrs. Mayhew's kindergarten rooms, they ensure that Taylor students are rising above the rest.

In Kindergarten, the students focus heavily on letters and sounds and beginning reading strategies.  Some of the big milestones reached are learning appropriate behaviors in school, knowing that letters mean something and can be used to make blends and words.  Numbers sense is also strengthened as students work with numbers in various mathematical concepts.

Kindergarten classes at Taylor have a lot excitement as they make learning come alive.  They have 'Pirate Day' to study maps, learn about Utah animals from A-Z, complete animal reports,  have walking 'report cards', study cultural traditions, learn various symbols of freedom, and celebrate '100's Day' with collections and posters of 100 things.

When Mrs. Kober and Mrs. Mayhew are asked what they love about kindergarteners, they said, "We love watching how quickly the students grow both academically and socially.  We love their excitement to learn and their fun personalities."   Taylor is very proud to have such a dedicated Kindergarten team!
