Rocco Mattinson Wins Scholarship for "Best in State" Cabbage

Submitted by mindy.sumens on

Last year’s third graders each received a baby cabbage plant from Bonnie Plants, with a goal to grow it over the summer and compete for $1000 scholarship prize.

Rocco Mattinson not only did this, but also won “Best in State”!  His cabbage weighed in at 13 lbs!!

Rocco told his class today he wants to be a police officer when he grown up. This $1000 and a summer of hard work, is definitely a step in the right direction!  Way to 'Reach for Your Potential' by pushing yourself to do amazing things!

Taylor students were excited to participate, for the second year, in the Payson Veteran's Day Parade. Special thanks to Parkview Elementary for all they do to coordinate this special event. Our local veterans drove past our school as our students cheered for them and thanked them for their service to our country.

To all our veterans, thank you for your willingness to serve and to sacrifice for our freedom. Happy Veteran's Day.
