Taylor Students Use Their E.A.R.S.

Submitted by courtney.corbin on Sun, 09/29/2013 - 22:11

Fourth graders at Taylor Elementary have been working hard on remembering what their E.A.R.S. are for...reading out loud!  Reading with Expression, Accuracy, Rate and Smoothness are things that a good reader does when they're reading aloud.  Each Friday, Mrs. Corbin, Mrs. Grill and Ms. Orme's classes have the chance to show off their skills by reading to the four first grade classes.  This is a fun opportunity for both grades to look forward to because it gives them a chance to practice reading, make new friends, and learn from each other.

Taylor's Book Fair a Success

Submitted by courtney.corbin on Sun, 09/29/2013 - 22:07

Taylor Elementary recently held another successful book fair!  Taylor Elementary students are challenged by Mr. Daybell each day to spend time reading and the book fair was a great way to make that happen! Students enjoyed all the new titles, bookmarks and posters that were available for sale.  As an added bonus, Taylor Tigers were able to wear a hat to school on Friday for donating $1 to the PTA! Many thanks go to the PTA volunteers and their many hours spent making this another successful book fair at Taylor!

I just want to say thank you for a great start of school!!  It has been nice to hear the sound of student's in the hallways and classrooms.  There are few things that I enjoy more than opening milk cartons for 1st graders.  Thank you for allowing and trusting all of us at Taylor School with your child's education.  I invite you to stop by or call me at anytime if you have a question.

Hope of America

Submitted by frank.daybell on Thu, 04/18/2013 - 14:20

I just wanted to say thank you to all of the students that performed last night at Hope of America. What an inspiring program for those who went. Our students represented our school and themselves in such a positive way and I couldn't be more proud of each one of them. A big thank you also goes to our wonderful music teacher Ms. Quezada. This opportunity wouldn't have happened without her willingness to organize it. I also just want to say thank you to all of you for coming out and supporting us. There are so many pressures on all of us on how we spend our time and I want you to know how much I appreciate all of the support you give Taylor School.
