Mrs. Provstgaard's Class Celebrates Their Love of Reading

Each year, students in Mrs. Provstgaard's class read Newberry Award winner,  "Miracles on Maple Hill" by Virginia Sorensen.  As part of this students celebrate the book by making it come alive. A few of the activities the third graders did were creating dioramas to show how they visualized Maple Hill to look in their mind. Students also  wrote an opinion essay about whether they would like to live on Maple Hill or their own home.

Magician Teaches Students at Taylor About Anti-Bullying

Students at Taylor Elementary were recently delighted by the magical skills of magician Lance Nielson!  Lance not only taught the students about magic, he showed the students that bullying is wrong.  Lance turned to magic as a youth to distract others from the things that made him different.   He encouraged students to look at each other as friends and find the good in one another.  He even revealed a secret or two about his magic tricks!   Thank you to Taylor's PTA for inviting the students to be a part of such a great assembly! &

Taylor's Fourth Grade Is Visited by The Living Planet Aquarium

The Living Planet Aquarium came to visit fourth-grade students teache them about Wetlands of Utah.  Fourth-graders learned about how wetlands can provide a habitat, clean water and slow floods in the state of Utah.  Students were even able to see live animals from Utah's wetlands such as salamandars, toads, and snakes.  Fourth grade student, Jack Hardy, said, "My favorite part was looking at the salamander because it was spotted and had mucus on it."  This is always a treat when the aquarium comes to visit the school because they make science in Utah come alive for stude

Mrs. Steele Honored as a P.E.A.K. Performer

Taylor Elementary's own Mrs. Steele was honored at Nebo School District's Board meeting last night as a PEAK performer. The award is given to Positive Energy and Kind employees who represent Nebo School district in a remarkable way. Mrs. Debbie Riggs nominated Caralee for the award. “Caralee is the one of the nicest people I have ever worked with. She is kind to every single person she comes in contact with. She makes everyone feel welcome and important.
