Taylor's PTA Equips School With Promethean Boards
Taylor Elementary’s PTA has made it possible for Taylor Elementary to be one of the most technologically equipped schools in Nebo School District. Along with iPads, document cameras, projectors, Kindles and updated computers, Taylor’s classrooms are all furnished with new Promethean Boards for teacher and student use. Taylor Elementary’s PTA raised funds through candy bar sales, the Fall Carnival, collecting box tops, Fun Food Friday and other various fund raising events in order to make these Promethean Boards possible.
Taylor's Art Gallery
S.E.P. night was recently held at Taylor Elementary. Not only was this a chance for students and parents to sit down with their teacher and discuss progress, goals and accomplishments, but an amazing art gallery was showcased as well. Mrs. Patten, Taylor's talented art teacher, transformed her classroom into an art gallery that displayed student work thoughout the term. This was a favorite for many to visit because students were able to show off the talents they've rbeen developing in visual arts.
Taylor's Reflection Contest a Success!
Taylor Elementary recently participated in the Reflections Contest which was themed, “Believe, Dream, Inspire” Entries were turned in by many students in visual art, photography, 3D art, Literature, Music, Dance, etc. Students’ entries were shown in a school-wide assembly. Winners were selected by a panel of judges and those students were awarded a trophy as well as the chance to have their entries sent to the district level for judging.
Annual Sixth-Grade Olympics
Taylor sixth-grade and faculty competed in the seventh annual Olympic Games. The student body was treated to the thrills and spills of Taylor's very own version of the Oympics. Sixth-grade students have been studying about early civilzations beginning with early man, moving up to ancient Egypt, and the Nile River Valley. For the past month, students have been learing about the origins of democracy and the ancient Olympic Games.
