March is Literacy Month at Taylor Elementary!

Submitted by courtney.corbin on

Taylor Elementary is known for being a school with dedicated readers.  Staff Developer, Tara Hunt, wanted a way to take that passion one step further and dedicate an entire month to the love of literacy!  In honor of famed author, Dr. Seuss' birthday, Taylor kicked off Literacy Month by a showing of the Cat in the Hat and listening to a read-a-loud of Green Eggs and Ham by Mr. Daybell in the gym.

The Crystal Apple Award recipient for Taylor Elementary is Courtney Corbin.  Courtney has been at Taylor Elementary for five years as a fourth-grade  teacher. Previous to teaching here, she taught one year at Santaquin Elementary, also in fourth-grade.  She has served our school as a member of the D.A.R.T. team, fourth-grade team leader, and as our public relations representative.  Because of her hard work, our school is in the newspaper and on-line frequently letting the community know of all the great things going on in all the classrooms.

Taylor's Kindergarten Classes Celebrate 100's Day

Submitted by courtney.corbin on

Taylor’s kindergarten students were excited to come to school because February 10th marked the 100th day of kindergarten!  Students in Mrs. Treana Kober and Mrs. Courtney Mayhew’s classes spent time in the gym doing ten repetitions of ten events totaling 100 activities!  Students also created posters to hang in the hallway showing 100 things of their choice!  What a great day to celebrate such a great milestone in kindergarten!
