Taylor's fourth and fifth-grade classes have been learning about Native American tribes in Utah. These student recently had the opportunity to have a special visitor at their school, Eileen Quintana of Title VII Indian Education for Nebo School District. Eileen brought with her many items that are unique to the Navajo culture. Students were able to see infant cradle boards, jingle dresses, blankets, a bow, dolls, dresses, teepee models , head dresses, articles of clothing and dream catcher baskets. Eileen also brought pictures of hogans and sheep farms from the Navajo resevations.

Taylor Elementary loves to celebrate learning, student success and the feeling of a school community. Taylor tigers were also exctied to celebrate Halloween with each other on the afternoon of the 31st. Taylor's halls were filled with ghosts, nijas, princesses, hippies and football players. Families and friends were invited to the school after lunch to particpate in a loved tradition of the "Halloween Parade" around the perimeter of the school. This was a fun time to celebrate Taylor's love of learning as well as keeping old traditions at our school. Happy Halloween!

Taylor school recently hosted a book fair in the gym for an entire week! Students were able to preview and purchase books that appealed to them. On one of those nights, families were invited to come to the school, enjoy delicious donuts and check out what the book fair had to offer. This was a great evening to see some of the latest books that are out. Some favorite books included, "Diary of a Whimpy Kid". "Vampires", "Club Penguin" and "Fancy Nancy" .
