Keyboarding Championship Reminder

Just a reminder for your students about the Keyboarding Championships at Spanish Fork High School. Qualifying students (those with invitations from me) should be at the high school on Wednesday beginning with registration between 3 - 3:45 pm and Round 1 starting at 4 pm. I think there are students at all my schools that could win the tournament.  Hope to see all my champions there on Wednesday.

Second grade students are finding it is easy to bring a little bit of gardening indoors!   These students planted bean seeds to grow in mini window greenhouses as well as seeds in soil cups.  These scientist will then be observing and charting their growth and then disecting the seeds as they sprout!   This is a great way to study the parts of a seed, use graphing skills and use the scientific method as they watch their classroom greenhouse come alive!

6th Grade Students Know How to Argue!

Submitted by courtney.corbin on Tue, 03/29/2016 - 00:06
Our sixth grade students are spending their final weeks in the halls of Taylor School. They working very hard to prepare for the rigor of Jr. High school. One of the ways is by perfecting their argumentative essay writing skills. Students in Mrs. Lewis' class are busily 'defending their claims', 'making counter arguments' and adding in a lot of their own style into their writing! We're so impressed with all that these 6th grade students are capable of and we're excited to see what they still have in store for us for the remainder of their time at Taylor!

Kindergarten students in Mrs. Sumen's classes have been enjoying a lot of donations thanks to the website Donors Choose. Their latest classroom addition is a set of new tablets for students to use in their classroom! These tablets have durable cases on them perfect for little hands and will offer these tiny learners a variety of opportunities for learning! Taylor school is very thankful for the generous donations that are made to classrooms, like Mrs. Sumens, each and every day! We're excited to see what these kids can do!!! We love Donors Choose!

One of the goals for many Taylor students is to have nice handwriting. These third grade students look forward to school because they finally get to learn cursive! It is so fun to see how their handwriting evolves from simple print to a beautiful cursive script in just a short amount of time! Plus....their little fingers get a little stronger in the process! Nice job third graders for perfecting your handwriting!
