Taylor's Fifth-Grade Honor Roll Students
Congratulations to Taylor Elementary's fifth grade honor roll students! These elite students needed to complete a list of requirements outside of regular class time that involved service, memorizing the Gettysburg address, passing off fast math facts and having good attendance, just to name a few....what a great example these students are to our Taylor family!
Taylor's Rich History
School favorite, crossing guard George Brinkerhoff, visited several of the classes at Taylor to teach students more about the history of Taylor. Taylor school has been onsite for 150 years! Jesse Soar Taylor's portrait hangs in the entryway of our school as a reminder of our rich history here in Payson!
5th Grade Program Reminder
Tomorrow, May 19, is the fifth grade program at 1:30 pm. The fifth grade classes have been working hard and are excited to perform for parents!
2nd Grade Field Trip Reminder....
Tomorrow, May 19, 2nd graders will be visiting the Living Planet Aquarium. Students need to remember their home lunch (if not having a school sack lunch) as well as a jacket. Please have students on time and ready to have fun!
Help with Swimming!
Parents! Taylor School's 3rd-6th grades will be swimming at Payson Pool on Thursday May 28th from 1-3 p.m. Payson city has asked that we bring 1 parent per 5 kids attending. That means......we need a lot of parent help! If you are able to attend, this would make it SO much easier to keep kids supervised!
If you can help, please contact your student's teacher!
* Yes, there will still be lifeguards
*Yes, you'll need to be in the water, walking around the edges, and reminding kids to follow all rules.
Taylor's Kindergarten Visits Young Living Farms
Students in the kindergarten classes visited the lavender farm in Mona! Students were able to ride on a horse drawn wagon, plant lavender seeds, see buffalo, camels, cows, horses and even old fashioned carriages and coaches! When asked, kindergarten students said their favorite part was "riding the bus, seeing the big equipment and even seeing "sharks" in the pond!" We sure love our kindergarten students!!
Taylor's Kindergarten Releases Their Butterflies
Taylor's Kindergarten classes have been watching the lifecycles of butterflies for the past few weeks. They've watched catepillars transform into beautiful butterflies and today was the day to finally let them go! Many of the butterflies stayed on students hands, arms and even heads!!! This was a great science study for students at Taylor to be involved in!
6th Grade Orchestra Delights Taylor School
Taylor's 6th grade orchestra, under the direction of Tammy Drager, performed for parents as well as the student body of Taylor in two performances. Favorites were songs from Star Wars as well as Pirates of the Carribean! The orchestra meets before school three days a week for an hour and students are required to practice on their own time. These students are a great example of dedication! Congratulations to these students for their excellent performance!
