Why Read?

Here are just a few of the responses from students.

  • It can make you smart.
  • Reading can help you learn new things.
  • Reading is FUN!
  • Books can take you on adventures.
  • Reading is good for our brains.
  • I read because I want to be a better reader.
  • I want to learn and express my imagination.

We love that our Taylor Tigers have a passion for reading!

We want to give a BIG thank you to our BYU TELL students and Mrs. Dollarhide our student teacher for all they have done to help in our classes. 5th Grade Reading Buddies with 1st Graders

Submitted by jade.muhlestein on

The first graders love having the fifth graders come and buddy read with them each week! The fifth graders listen to first graders show off their reading skills they are learning and sometimes the first graders get to listen to a story be read to them. Not only are they enjoying reading together but they love the friendships they make too!

Spreading Kindness Goals

Submitted by jade.muhlestein on

As a whole school we are working on spreading kindness. Each class has come up with their own kindness goal and how they can reach it. We love that each of our students are spreading kindness in our schools and community. Ask your child what goal they are working on and how they are working to achieve that goal.

Fancy Hat the Mountain Man

Submitted by jade.muhlestein on

The Fourth Graders had a fun presentation given by Fancy Hat himself. He talks to them about trappers and explorers and the different types of animals. He brings in lots of different animal furs to show the students and let them feel them and try them on. The students love it! This is a great presentation to help the fourth graders wrap up their unit on Trappers and Explorers.
