First-grade teacher, Penny Oakeson, was recently elected as Taylor's Teacher of the Year.  Mrs. Oakeson has been teaching at Taylor for nearly a decade,  all in first grade!  Penny has been deeply involved in many aspects of Taylor School and is constantly striving to further her own knowledge as an educator.   She has served as the school district's 'Arts' representative, been a part of first grade testing committees, obtained her E.S.L. endorsement, participated in intense CMI math trainings among many other things.  Mrs. Oakeson is also a Crystal Apple recipient for Taylor Elementary.   Principal Frank Daybell says of Penny, "Penny is one of the strongest teachers at Taylor School....her confidence in herself and her abilities are unmatched...she represents professionalism at its best!"   Taylor Elementary is proud to have such an amazing educator serving the community of Payson.  She is truly one of the best Taylor has.  Congratulations Penny Oakeson!

Penny lives in Santaquin with her husband, Kevin.   She has a daughter and two sons, one grandchild and a big, black dog.  She enjoys movies, dinner with her family, babysitting her grandson and being outdoors.
