Taylor Elementary School is pleased to welcome Holly Markgrafmayne to our school. "Miss Holly", as the students call her, is Nebo School District's dance specialist. Miss Holly has been actively meeting with teachers and students to help imbed dance movement into as many areas of curriculm as possible. Students have had a chance to learn and express their ideas through movement while at school with Miss Holly. Taylor's teachers have taken this one step further and incorporated movement into their math, language, science and writing lessons.
Fourth graders at Taylor Elementary have been working hard on remembering what their E.A.R.S. are for...reading out loud! Reading with Expression, Accuracy, Rate and Smoothness are things that a good reader does when they're reading aloud. Each Friday, Mrs. Corbin, Mrs. Grill and Ms. Orme's classes have the chance to show off their skills by reading to the four first grade classes. This is a fun opportunity for both grades to look forward to because it gives them a chance to practice reading, make new friends, and learn from each other.
Taylor Elementary recently held another successful book fair! Taylor Elementary students are challenged by Mr. Daybell each day to spend time reading and the book fair was a great way to make that happen! Students enjoyed all the new titles, bookmarks and posters that were available for sale. As an added bonus, Taylor Tigers were able to wear a hat to school on Friday for donating $1 to the PTA! Many thanks go to the PTA volunteers and their many hours spent making this another successful book fair at Taylor!
Just a reminder that picture day is on September 26th for Taylor School.
Did you know that Taylor School has a homework lab every morning and during lunch for any student who would like extra help? The lab is open from 8:00am-8:30am every morning in Mrs.Grill's classroom. The lunchtime lab is held in the 4-H room from 12:00pm-12:30. If your student would like extra help or just a quite place to read we invite them to attend.
Just a reminder that school will be out at 12:00pm on Wednesday, September 18th so teachers can attend district trainings. AM kindergarten students will also get out at 12:00pm. There will be no PM kindergarten.
Thanks,
Mr. Daybell
Just a reminder that there is no school on Monday, September 2nd because of Labor Day. Have a great three day weekend!

Dear Taylor Tiger's
I just want to say thank you for a great start of school!! It has been nice to hear the sound of student's in the hallways and classrooms. There are few things that I enjoy more than opening milk cartons for 1st graders. Thank you for allowing and trusting all of us at Taylor School with your child's education. I invite you to stop by or call me at anytime if you have a question.
Thanks,
