Mrs. Shaylyn Murdoch was awarded Taylor Elementary's Crystal Apple Award this year!
Shay has been teaching for 12 years. She followed in her mother’s footsteps as an educator. She has worked at 5 schools in the district. She attended Taylor as a child, so she has come full circle. She graduated from Payson High and Utah State University. She currently teaches special ed and is a special ed mentor.
Shay is married to her high school sweetheart, Bob, and has 3 children. Her favorite things are napping and going to St. George. She hates bugs, specifically spiders. She loves ALL sports…volleyball, softball, but is not very good at playing basketball. She loves yard work. She is not a morning person. She likes Diet Mt. Dew…but will drink anything. Her favorite food is anything she doesn't have to cook. She loves to watch movies with her family. She loves to travel and see new places, and has been to Cancun twice in the past year.
We are so lucky to have Shay Murdoch at Taylor School. She is a great teacher and a champion for our students who need additional interventions to be successful in their education experience. Congratulations on being this year's Crystal Apple recipient.
