Sixth-grade students in Mrs. Phena Brown, Mr. Rory Hansen and Mr. Ryan Wilson’s classes have spent a large amount of time learning about the middle ages.  Along with this study, students learn about different world religions, the value of the printing press as well as the meaning of chivalry in an etiquette lesson.  In order to use their new skills, students participated in an annual “King and Queen’s Ball”.  The young “knights” learned how to properly treat “Fair Maidens” while participating in a large banquet where their manners were tested while using goblets and fine linens.   The event concluded by students performing individual and couples dances that had been practiced for many hours.    This is a favorite time of year for parents and students and it would not be possible without the help and support of the sixth-grade parents. Sixth-grade parent, JoJo Lindstrom says, "This King and Queen's ball was the highlight of my son's year.  My fifth-grade daughter can't wait until it is her turn to participate in such a great tradition!" Thank you sixth-grade for making a yearly tradition such a meaningful event at our school!
