Taylor Elementary's sixth-grade classrooms worked hard this year participating in NOVA and recently graduating from Officer Gary Thatcher's program.  Nurturing, Opportunity, Values and Accountability are all skills that students in Mrs. Phena Brown, Mr. Rory Hansen and Mr. Ryan Wilson's classes worked hard on during a 13-15 week program, leaving a foundation that can be used in the classroom, the playground and in every day life.   Students received a folder, shirt and skills that will last them a lifetime.  Graduation ceremonies were held in the gym of Taylor Elementary where many Payson police officers as well as city mayor, Rick Moore, welcomed the new NOVA graduates  Students from each class, Tyson Christensen, Moriah Bulow, and Haylie Carlile, wrote an essay to read for the audience about their experiences in NOVA and why they need to stick to these new skills!  Sixth-grade student, Sydnee Garrett, said, "My favorite time during NOVA was when we were allowed to shout the NOVA chant at the end of each lesson.  All the other classes said they could hear us! It gets them really excited for sixth-grade" . Congratulations to this year's graduates of NOVA at Taylor Elementary!
