Taylor Students Use Their E.A.R.S.

Submitted by courtney.corbin on Sun, 09/29/2013 - 22:11

Fourth graders at Taylor Elementary have been working hard on remembering what their E.A.R.S. are for...reading out loud!  Reading with Expression, Accuracy, Rate and Smoothness are things that a good reader does when they're reading aloud.  Each Friday, Mrs. Corbin, Mrs. Grill and Ms. Orme's classes have the chance to show off their skills by reading to the four first grade classes.  This is a fun opportunity for both grades to look forward to because it gives them a chance to practice reading, make new friends, and learn from each other.

Taylor's Book Fair a Success

Submitted by courtney.corbin on Sun, 09/29/2013 - 22:07

Taylor Elementary recently held another successful book fair!  Taylor Elementary students are challenged by Mr. Daybell each day to spend time reading and the book fair was a great way to make that happen! Students enjoyed all the new titles, bookmarks and posters that were available for sale.  As an added bonus, Taylor Tigers were able to wear a hat to school on Friday for donating $1 to the PTA! Many thanks go to the PTA volunteers and their many hours spent making this another successful book fair at Taylor!

Did you know that Taylor School has a homework lab every morning and during lunch for any student who would like extra help?  The lab is open from 8:00am-8:30am every morning in Mrs.Grill's classroom.  The lunchtime lab is held in the 4-H room from 12:00pm-12:30.  If your student would like extra help or just a quite place to read we invite them to attend.
