3rd Grade Cabbage Contest has Officially Begun!

Taylor's third grade classes look forward to this time of year. Students in Mrs. Charles, Mrs. Ellsworth and Mrs. Provstgaard's class got their baby cabbages today with the hopes of winning the grand prize for growing the largest plant! Each year Bonnie Plants sends out thousands of cabbage starter plants to third grade students across the nation. The students plant and care for their cabbages throughout the summer and then take a picture with the end result. Each teacher then chooses a class winner and submits it to Bonnie Plants. This program was implemented back in 2002 to encourage young people to develop a love for gardening and cultivate a better understanding of agriculture. .
