Students have been learning how to find library books online through an app called Sora. You can find it through the Nebo Website by going to the www.nebo.edu, the student tab, student home page, scroll down and find the link that says Library Digital. They can find books that they can read or books that they can listen to be read to them. We love reading!!

School Community Council Nominations

Submitted by billi.robbins on Mon, 08/24/2020 - 18:06
Hello Taylor Elementary parents and guardians,

Taylor Elementary's School Community Council is looking for 3 parents who would be willing to be on our council this year.  School Community Council meets once a month for about an hour.  Members include: parents/guardians, teachers, staff and principal.

A School Community Council is created for the purpose of involving parents or guardians of students in decision making at the school level; improving the education of students; prudently expending School LAND Trust Program money for the improvement of students' education through collaboration among parents and guardians, school employees, and the Board of Education.

If you would like to volunteer or know someone you would like to nominate, please email clint.cornwall@nebo.edu or billi.robbins@nebo.edu. Nominations start Monday, August 24 and will end Monday, August 31.   We will contact all individuals about their nominations and proceed with elections.

Thanks,
Clint Cornwall

Hello Taylor Tiger Families!

Thanks so much for registering your children for school.  We appreciate your patience with our new program.  If you have not registered your child for school, please do so asap.  We are here to help if you need assistance!

We want to remind you that today, if all goes well with this new program, you should be able to see who your child's teacher is.  You will need to go to Infinite Campus and check your child's schedule.  There it should say who your child's teacher is.  If you have not registered your child, there will not be a teacher listed.  If you think you have registered your child and there is not a teacher listed, please call the office, 801-465-6050.

If for some reason there is a glitch and the program is not ready, I will try to get an email out to you asap to let you know there is a problem.

Please mark your calendar for August 18th, for our Virtual Taylor Open House!  Teachers will be reaching out to you via email and infinite campus contact to make sure you have all the links and videos to welcome your children back to school. We know this is not our traditional format and although we are sad we won't get to see you in person we want to work hard to keep everyone as safe as possible. Allowing us to do a virtual open house will hopefully allow this to happen.

School will begin the following Wednesday, August 19th, at 9:15 am and will dismiss at 2:45pm.  Kindergarten will begin the following week, Wednesday, August 26th.

Please call in to the school this week to schedule your KINDERGARTENER'S Assessment.  This will take place the first week of school.

Please watch for more information later in the week regarding our opening plans and some basic essentials you will want to know for your children attending Taylor Elementary.  During such a crazy time we feel it important to say thanks for all your support!  We look forward to a great year and can't wait to see our kids back with us.

WELCOME Kindergarten Students!

We are excited to have you join our TAYLOR TIGER Family!

Kindergarten students need to participate in an assessment that is given to each student individually the first week of school.  This is done so that the teachers get to know the students a little better before the official first day of Kindergarten, WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 26th.

This is a VERY important appointment cause this helps us determine which class each student will be placed in as well as student placement in Optional Extended Day Kindergarten (OEK).  Please try to be on time.  The assessment will take 20 - 30 minutes.  Parents or guardians must be present with kindergartener.  Meet the teachers by the front entrance of the school, please wait on the benches near the flagpole.  MASK ARE REQUIRED TO ENTER THE BUILDING!

PLEASE CALL THE SCHOOL TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT by August 18th!
