Don't forget to Register your Kindergarten Student

Submitted by courtney.corbin on

Please make sure to register your kindergarten student for the 2016-17 school year! Even if you don't have all the paperwork required, you can still come to the school and get them signed up! This is very helpful for our office staff to predict the amount of students that will be attending kindergarten in the fall. Stop by the office any time and we would love to get you started! We look forward to seeing you!

First graders are focused!

Submitted by courtney.corbin on
It's no secret that some of Taylor's hardest working students are in the first grade. Students in Mrs. Oakeson's, Mrs. Clove, Mrs. Robison and Mrs. Mayhew's classes have a lot expected of them in reading, writing and math. These students not only work hard every day in class, but also on the playground, the hallway, the lunchroom and assemblies. One way these students have found succes is by using noise canceling headphones! Principal Robbins knows how important it is to always work hard in school and she wanted the first graders to do just that!

3rd Graders Work Hard

Mrs. Provstgaard's 3rd graders have been digging deep into all requirements of the third grade core. Students in her class have stayed focused, worked hard, scored well and have had a great attitude the entire time! As a reward for their commitment to learning, Mrs. Provstgaard's students enjoyed a little down time with some pizza and soda! It sure pays off when you work hard! We're excited to see what these 3rd graders can do!!

3rd Grade Cabbage Contest has Officially Begun!

Submitted by courtney.corbin on
Taylor's third grade classes look forward to this time of year. Students in Mrs. Charles, Mrs. Ellsworth and Mrs. Provstgaard's class got their baby cabbages today with the hopes of winning the grand prize for growing the largest plant! Each year Bonnie Plants sends out thousands of cabbage starter plants to third grade students across the nation. The students plant and care for their cabbages throughout the summer and then take a picture with the end result. Each teacher then chooses a class winner and submits it to Bonnie Plants.

Taylor's 2nd Annual Literacy Night

Submitted by courtney.corbin on
Taylor's families joined each other at the school Monday night to celebrate a love of reading. Parents and students came to the school and spent the evening reading stories, practicing helpful reading strategies, using online resources, learning about new popular books and even seeing a few pirates. This night was very successful because of the wonderful support we received from our Taylor parents. To continue our love for reading, Taylor students spent the next day at school dedicating the majority of their day to literacy!
