Ballet West

Taylor School had one of the  most amazing assemblies at school recently.  Ballet West from Salt Lake City performed for students pieces from "The Nutcracker".  The company also demonstrated warm-ups, ballet positions, costuming, storytelling and even let students come up on stage to perform themselves. The entire student audience was captivated by the performance of these dancers!   We look forward to when Ballet West can visit Taylor again!

The "Where's Nemo" pet store visted the Mrs. Charles' class to help with their opinion writing.  The third graders are trying to decide which class pet would be the best fit for their classroom.  After gathering research from the presenters, they narrowed their choices down to a chameleon, a ball python and a bearded dragon.  These students will now use their research to write an opinion paper supporting their ideas for a class pet.

Mr. Tom Wood has spent the week at Taylor in the 3rd-6th grade classes tying many different core elements into art. In the 5th grade classes, he used oil pastels to create a timeline of Earth's Erosion, the 3rd graders made portriats of the presidents and the fourth graders created Valentine's stencils!    This has been a great week to see the students' creations as well as their art skills becoming sharpened!

Taylor's Kindergarteners made it to the 100th day of school!   Students were invited to dress up as a 100-year-old person and they spent the day celebrating the number 100!  During the week they also did 100's day art projects, found 100 bean bags, and  read 100's day stories!  Congratulations kindergarten students!
